Lovely owners very welcoming. Lovely park with gardens throughout. Cabins very roomy with full kitchen, air conditioning and verandah with table and chairs so you can relax and take in the ambience and peacefullness of the park. Amenities clean, laundry has 4 washers and 2 dryers. Very reasonably priced at $121 with G'Day membership discount. Very appreciative of owners promptly giving me a cabin after a bad night at another park. Highly recommend and will be back.

When booking into Anchorage we were excited as we booked 2 cabins and a van site for family. It was supposed to be a week of fun following Christmas however the trip was tarnished and made stressful by the management team of the Park. I am not sure if they are owners or Management however Jo and Kens responses to issues were extremely poor. 

I have worked in hospitality from Backpackers to 5* Hotels for over 10 years and was very disappointed by the lack of compassion and customer service. Ken and Jo are very good at making excuses for the problems and they have a severe lack of problem solving abilities. I found myself being the one suggesting how to rectify the issues. At this park it seems the Customer is always wrong and they don't follow the basic rules of customer service “Listen to the Customer” “Emphasis and Apologize”.

The stay started with our power tripping. We walked into the Cabin after traveling with 4 year old twins to find no power. After a short trip to reception Jo reset the power and showed us how along with showing us a switch outside we thought was for the outside light but it was actually the master Aircon. From then on there were nothing but issues. The power continued to trip another 3 times each time, us “the paying customer” having to reset it. The first time it tripped Jo’s response was simply “did you boil the jug”. No, we have literally walked in and turned the aircon on (the fridge and the aircon is all that running). Reluctantly Jo came over as we were trying to solve the problem. We then had to turn everything on one by one. Fridge, then Aircon then lights. Finally it all stuck and our room was cooling and our fridge was filled with the items we have brought along. 

The fridge around 6 hours later still felt cool not cold, drinks still cool not cold/frozen in the freezer and ice poles in the freezer softer than when they were put in. My sister has just delivered me a kg of Prawns ($50 worth) we didn't want these to go off so turned the thermostat to colder. 

I went to put the boys to bed, pulled back the covers and there was a big dirty mark on the bed. Called the after hours number 4 times and no answer. By this stage it was super late and my young boys were exhausted so I called my mum “staying on the van site” and borrowed a clean sheet from her. Finally got a call back but by then it was too late and my boys were asleep. 

The next day I woke to my prawns smelly (wasted and unable to eat) and icey poles soft and drinks cool not cold. Ken argued saying fridge was fine and that it was my fault for turning up the Thermostat to colder. I explained I turned it up because on the middle setting it was not cooling properly. After some discussions my fridge was swapped and my food was finally cold. 
Aircon stopped cooling this day too a couple of times, but we turned it on and off and it worked again. 

Things were going well, however ran into Ken and thanked him for swapping the fridge and instead of leaving it at “Im glad we were able to turn things around” he proceeded to dig again suggesting fridge was fine and that it was in another room cooling fine. Unnecessary to say this to a customer.

The next day the aircon pooped itself, turned it off and on over the course of 6 hours. However it just would not kick in. Ken did not deal with the situation well. Pretty much told us he can't fix it and we should pack up and leave the park. He did not even bother to see about moving us and buying himself time to get the aircon fixed. I paid for a service “aircon” and did not receive that service. I was distraught, no way could we sleep in that cabin in the heat just with fans. The rest of my family was in the park, I was not about to leave. 
Ken and Jo finally suggested a cabin swap with him (Ken) I was happy with this. But then, he proceeded to play the blame game. Then the blame game began, that I broke the fridge, I tripped the power by having too much stuff on, my twins broke the aircon by playing with a switch. He said that we were the common denominator, not taking responsibility that the fridge was ancient and the aircon was too. It became a he said she said and so I walked away in utter tears to my sisters cabin. I was heartbroken that the trip was destroyed by Ken and Jo and that he really thought we were a terrible family. I take great pride in looking after Airbnbs/Apartments/Cabins and keeping them clean. We have never had this type of accusation before.

Ken and Jo miraculously then had another empty and clean cabin with a working fridge and aircon for us to move into for the rest of the stay. Funny how in this cabin we had no issues (everything worked how it should)

Overall poorly managed situation and absolutely no compensation offered for destroyed prawns and approximately 5 hours of my holidays wasted on sorting issues. I'm so lucky I had my family around to help me move myself and twins to the new cabin. 

My extended family and our $$ will be taken elsewhere next year! 

If you have no issues this park would be ok. The pool area is fantastic for young kids, but if you have issues prepare to be blamed for things that are not your fault.

Note: It's supposed to be a NO DOG POLICY 26th Dec - 30th Jan and well lets just say there were dogs around. We saw at least 4 different ones so no enforcement of rules.

Management unable to deal with problems.

We had a 2 night getaway, from the first phone call, to Ken it was a very great trip.
Ken was extremely friendly and nothing was too much trouble.
The receptionist was also extremely friendly giving excellent customer service. We stayed in. Duplex cabin, very clean great size. 
Fully equipped with everything you need full kitchen good size fridge/freezer. Full size range and microwave.
Very comfortable bed, nice atmosphere quiet and peaceful.
Very well kept Caravan Park,amazing camp kitchen.
The park is across the road from the river and short distance from local supermarket and eateries.

anchorage has been home for us for the last 5 nights and many in the past and will be many more in the future  :)  very friendly staff... beautiful park and very clean amenities.  very beautiful here.

I had 4 nights in a pet friendly cabin with my dog. It was very clean and quiet. The cabin had everything that we needed, The staff very helpful and friendly.  The park grounds are well maintained and clean. Dog friendly beach and shops were a short drive away. Great fresh seafood from the co-op. Will be back for sure.

This was a wonderful park, great size sites. Pool, spa and very clean and well maintained grounds and amenities. Right on the river front, lots of beautiful places to explore. We will definately be making this a regular place to visit

We just spent 9 terrific days at Anchorage Holiday Park. we were on a riverfront site which was spacious, the view was lovely, had facilities for BBQ at the back of us , just a brilliant spot.  It was one of the best caravan parks we have stayed at, it had everything one could want, lovely clean amenities, swimming pool, the cleanest laundry I have ever used, I could go on.  It was also close to town, Yamba, Maclean all nice little drives then back to tranquility.  
Do yourself a favour and go and stay with these lovely people it was a pleasure from our first phone call to the end of our stay.  We actually stayed two more days than we booked we were so impressed.  Thank you also to Ken who kindly helped us into our site, made things so much easier.

Wonderful Caravan Park

Excellent location and facilities 100%. The park has an awesome atmosphere and facilities were clean and the park well maintained. I was there with a young family and my kids did not want to leave (either did myself). I definitely will be a frequent visitor.

One of the best

We had an Awesome stay, I experienced a small problem with the amount of water coming out of the taps that turned out to be my Caravan’s pressure valve and the park staff were very helpful.  The camp position gave us a fabulous view over the water although near the road it was very peaceful and a Great place to visit.
I’ll be back.

Awesome holiday park riverside! Boat ramp within a stones throw, spacious sites, bikes/buggy’s/kayaks for hire, clean communal area with fridges and bbq’s, hosts are very welcoming, loved our stay there!
