This place is a gorgeous sanctuary, its so peaceful, only the wildlife disturbs you, bush turkeys, wallabies and the birds.  Stunning sunsets over the lake, the beach is out the back, and thats stunning too. 5 miles of white sand and huge waves, its a great walk into Byron and an Uber home! We will be back, lets hope its still available!

We have holidayed at this property twice now and loved it. Excellent in all aspects, close to what matters with great access to the beach and bike tracks yet away from the bustle! This place is great for families and Suffolk Park is a lovely quiet neighbourhood with a set of local shops/ cafes conveniently located. Excellent alternative to B.bay!

Tallow Beach Houses at Suffolk Park was our ideal location for a weeks get away with our sons after a tumulitious year. We booked both 9 and 9A which were join together by a walkway/breezeway between the two houses. 2 adult sons stayed in one and another stayed with us in the back. A great deck stretched the width of the rear house and this is where we all congregated for meals and card games. 4 bedrooms 4 bathrooms clean beds linen and house. The only fault I found was there was only 1 salad bowl in each house. My advice take along some  cheap throw away salad bowls from the $2 stores. As well as small take away containers. There was never enough containers or platters for serving of food. No problem really as I went out and bought some. Just would like extra for next time we return. Our hosts where great and welcomed my sons back. It was there 12 th return visit with this place 

My girlfriend & I stayed for 3 nights last weekend. It was the perfect quiet location right on Tallows Beach. Byron centre is only a 10 minute drive & that suited us perfectly so we could retreat to our retreat! 2 very generous sized bedrooms with ensuites, & great outdoor areas for lounging around drinking champagne! My only recommendation would be a more comfortable sofa & larger TV. Otherwise absolutely perfect! Thank you :)

Thanks to Sarah Grant the Manager who was really helpful with booking and during our stay.  We stayed in the lovely Sandcastles Beach House with a delightful deck overlooking the Arakwal National Park. We were really well catered for with a modern, cosy and well appointed Beach House.  We did some gorgeous beach walks along beautiful Tallow Beach as the beach is literally 3 mins walk away.  Tallow Beach gives superb views of the Byron Bay Lighthouse promontory to the North and Broken Head to the South.  We had planned to whale watch and were delighted to find that Broken Head promontory (easily walkable from the Beach House) is a quieter and much more accessible spot to watch them from, rather than the busy Byron Bay Lighthouse promontory.  We did do the Byron Bay promontory - parking at Clarke's Beach and walked via Wategos Beach - a great walk in the fresh sunny July weather!  Byron Bay town centre is only 10 mins by car so everything is in easy reach for a great holiday.  

We have been holding Yoga retreats at Tallow Beach Houses for over 10 years and have found the venue facilities and management to be absolutely fantastic!

My partner and I had the pleasure of staying at Tallow Beach Houses over the New Year period. Our experience was mostly delightful, meriting a solid 4-star rating.

Pros:

	•	Serenity: The tranquillity of the location was a highlight. The soothing sound of waves crashing nearby and the chorus of native birds provided a perfect backdrop for relaxation.
	•	Comfort: The houses are well-appointed for a comfortable stay. We had peaceful nights’ sleep, undisturbed by neighbours, which is always a blessing.
	•	Location: Its proximity to the beach is commendable, offering easy access for those longing for a quick beach stroll or a day by the sea.

Areas for Improvement:

	•	Amenities: For the premium price paid, especially during a peak period, the provision of basic amenities fell short of expectations. The absence of beach towels was particularly inconvenient, considering our travel constraints. Additionally, the inclusion of more comprehensive toiletry options like body wash and shampoo would be appreciated.
	•	Connectivity: Improved WiFi is a necessity, particularly in an area with poor reception. This would greatly enhance the overall convenience, especially for essential communications like booking taxis.
	•	Renovation and Maintenance: While recent renovations are noticeable, there seems to be room for further enhancements. Attention to details such as door handles, fly screens, and overall cleanliness would elevate the experience.
	•	Check-out Expectations: The check-out process could be streamlined. The expectation to sweep floors, coupled with inadequate cleaning tools, seemed unreasonable considering the price point.

In conclusion, our stay at Tallow Beach Houses was memorable and enjoyable, yet there’s room for improvement to truly justify a 5-star experience. We look forward to seeing these enhancements on our next visit!


great spot and a favourite one for our family.   Just a happy place to be. so close to the beach and in a quite seclude cul de sac at the end of Sufflok Park. Highly recommend this but book early.  Unfortunately getting a bit out of my price range now that I need a 3 bedroom cabin.  My sons have been going here by themselves since they got their licences

We were in in Unit 6 which was the best on with two decks looking over the wetland and were lucky enough to see a goanna. Some of the units need updating as our friends described theirs as hot boxes with no ceiling fans. Our unit was great except for the very soft bed.

Beds need upgrading

The rooms are way overpriced for what you get. It’s awkward to get to. You must rent a car if staying here. The manager of these cabins is not very helpful. The state of cleanliness and care of the houses is questionable. BYO soap, shampoo etc because you won’t find anything here. They supply the absolute bare basics. The sound of the ocean is very loud, on windy days. However the beach is beautiful to walk along or have a quick dip. So over rated. Get far better value in air bnb’s elsewhere.
