The staff were were very friendly and knowledgeable. The an accommodation was comfortable. A nice dinner and breakfast that catered for all tastes . The zoo access was a nice bonus inclusion. Hearing the male lions calling at night, amazing.

Such a wonderful and unique experience - lots of interesting information about the role of a modern zoo in the conservation movement, experiencing the Australian animals after losing and before opening hours was so special.
The walk in the crisp morning air was good too - I loved learning more about hippos!

Such a wonderful family experience, guided tours and feeds, the tents were comfortable the amenities were very clean. We stayed in winter and despite it being -2 the tents and linens provided kept us warm. Plenty of food which was included in the price great value for money. 

The whole stay was a great experience and we al learned something new about the wildlife and nature.
You rough it in a tent with single camp beds but that’s half the fun of the stay.
I recommend to bring a torch wit a red light so you get more from the night excursions 

The after hours behind the scenes tours really make it worthwhile. The camp beds are comfortable and clean. Staff are nice and helpful. Highlight was watching the elephants get a bath. Also hearing animals in the night. 

What an amazing experience camping with the animals. Rustic style camping, delicious dinner and knowledgeable guides. The park can be accessed by car which is amazing, everyone was courteous and friendly exploring the park. Park is clean and tidy 

We spent NYE at Billabong camp and what a great experience!!! After spending 3 hours riding around the zoo on bikes and seeing the camp from the outside, we weren't sure what the experience would be like.
Check in opens at 3.30 and you have an hour or so to put your bags in your tent and relax. We had brought some cheese and snacks so put those out and bought some drinks from the bar, then settled in at a table in the communal area playing a boardgame (also brought with us). A small storm hit just before the first tour so we delayed a little then all headed out to see the lions. The staff were amazing - so knowledgeable about the animals and nothing was too much trouble. The dinner was extremely generous and with myself and son being coeliac, we needn't have worried with our dietary requirements being well supported. After dinner we had the native animal nocturnal tour then back for supper.
During the night you get to hear the apes and the lions - just amazing. In the morning we had a great breakfast and headed out for a great showing from a Sumatran Tiger and the Siamangs before heading home.
The bathrooms were well appointed and a short walk away and the beds and blanket surprisingly comfortable.
Definitely give yourself a few hours to explore the zoo and enjoy.

We had a great experience staying overnight in the tents. Wonderful to hear the lions roaring throughout the night! Three animal tours included which were informative. Meals were generous and delicious.

My partner and I had such a great time! We really enjoyed touring the grounds before and after hours as the animals were much more active/engaged. We were able to hear the lions roar in the middle of the night, plus the sounds of the billabong creatures. The guides were very knowledgable and hospitable.

As the campsite is unpowered, I would recommend a portable phone charger and packing a torch/lantern. The packing list does say to bring this.

Fantastic experience, friendly helpful staff.   You feel close to the animals and it seems very natural.  The ability to walk, cycle, drive or hire carts to get around makes the whole experience much easier and more enjoyable. 
Tip - if you are going in winter or early spring take extra bedding - it is very cold!
