We were comfortable, except for the stools, which were too tall and sharp.

Thank you for looking after us while we stayed. Nothing was too much trouble and the staff are very friendly. Will stay again if I’m in Bundy again.

It was very good place but bit noise from cars driving up and down but overall very satisfied.

Everything was great . Easy parking , close to town , room was clean with good wi fi . We appreciated being able to check in on arrival , before 1400 .

Liked the comfortable  room and the quietnessWould have liked to be able to watch a smart TV and netflex

Great stay and, clearly, lots of work done by all to make it as easy and comfortable as possible. Excellent.

Really good little hotel. Clean and for the cost of the room, very good. Close to good pubs and pizza shop which was handy for a one night stay. I believe the new manager has taken the place by the scruff of the neck and tidied it right up as I see some of the other reviews were not great. The new manager has done great here and it would seem it's improved quite a lot since she came on board. So for the negative reviews, they were probably warranted at the time, but as of June 2023, really good. I would definitely stay again.

We have stayed here a few times previously and would stay again. We had a twin room with a double bed and a single bed. It was very clean and the beds were comfortable.  We were there for 3 nights and the room was not serviced during our stay though we could have asked for fresh towels. For the price I would recommend this one.

Very good value 

Lovely clean tidy spacious room and motel.  Excellent owners - made us very welcome.  A very comfortable stay and we would recommend this motel.  Good value affordable accommodation.  Basic crockery and cutlery supplied to eat in your room and we didn't even have to do the dishes - thanks Tom & Gail.  Easy walk to Pub and café.  We would definitely stay there again.

Lovely hosts Great motel

We looked hard for the best,  and Kalula  gave the best selection for Quiet  Traffic   and still close to town centre, & good price......  

Just over the new bridge & on the 1st  right turn heading north...close to  the town centre (No foot bridge ) , almost opposite the  Botanical Gardens,  Kalula is  on the parallel  service side road to the main highway.  everything clean , a very comfortable bed, Kitchenette with Electric Jug,  Toaster, plates, cutlery, towels, floor mats, Soap  LLMilk  &  tea/coffee & more  etc.. Will always stay there when we travel north again...

The best quiet Motel..

Bundaberg has enough going for it that it should have accommodation options other than motels.  That said, the Kalua was a good one, in a good part of town near the Botanic Gardens and the Hinkler museum.  The owners are very helpful and look after their guests well.  Rooms are large and clean, and a bonus is the fact that Oddy's cafe is practically next door and makes a great breakfast.

Good motel, great service

This was my second trip to Bundaberg and this time, based on the reviews i decided to stay at the Kalua Motel. I spent 5 nights at the Kalua and loved it. I would highly recommend this motel for the following reasons:
It is fastidiously clean
Rooms have a little kitchenette (I despise using the bathroom vanity as a kitchen sink)
The owners, Gail and Tom run the motel and are awesome
Love the location. About a 2 minute walk is Oodies Cafe, fantastic food and coffee, great for breakfast.  There are also pubs, italian and chinese restaurants within walking distance as well as an IGA.

Your home away from home

Continent location, to wear we need to be, clean tidy and comfortable.  Obviously it is an older building, but for the price we paid very happy.

This is a budget motel that is clean and comfortable, I had a microwave and fridge in my room as well as the standard toaster and kettle. My room was close to the road so a bit noisy but not really a problem. Comfy mattress and pillows. I’d stay here again.
