Lalor Lodge

We stayed at Lalor Lodge at the end ofJanuary as part of our Great Ocean Road tour and were delighted by the hospitality we were shown by our hosts, Esther and Peter Lalor. We were greeted with tea and cakes on our arrival and spent a comfortable night in our well-furnished bedroom, enjoying being surrounded by the bush. Great breakfast in the morning, and a walk in the garden where we saw koalas and kookaburras; Peter calls the birds down and gave us plenty of advice about things to see on our journey, including Maits Rest which we would otherwise have missed since our tour company didn't mention it. Would definitely recommend Lalor Lodge!

We stayed here at Easter for one night. It was delightful and such a peaceful location. Our hosts, Esther and Peter, were so helpful and made us very welcome. We were greeted with tea and biscuits when we arrived. Breakfast the next morning was cooked to order and we even had a small Easter egg as it was Easter Sunday. Peter and Esther's knowledge of the local area was excellent and also of the wildlife. We saw a kookaburra in the garden. We would have loved to stay another night but had to continue our journey - would certainly recommend it if you want to stay near Apollo Bay.

A beautiful wooden lodge just off the main road, but tucked away in bushland - Peter gets the kookaburras to come to the rail for breakfast in the morning. the Lalors are excellent, friendly hosts & had breakfast with us. Peter is a descendant of Peter Lalor who led the rebellion at the Eureka Stockade, back in the gold rush days. We enjoyed the conversation. Very generous with the whiskey & drinks too! The lodge is newish, well designed & in native timbers. A very peaceful stop.

Excellent quiet location just out of Apollo Bay in a secluded lovely garden. David and Esther prapare an excellent breakfast at the common table and help you very much for any other things, like itinerary, maps ecc. We really suggest you to spend a few nights there. They have 4 large and comfortable Twin Rooms.


We stayed there one night on our Great Ocean Road tour. The B&B was very nice and the owners are very nice people. We enjoyed talking to them.
The guest house has several sleeping rooms and there is a shared living area. We were lucky that we were the only guests and had the whole guest house just for us. There is also a very nice Jacuzzi and its fun to use it in the evening listing to all the sounds of the nature. The house is in a large garden and its great to watch all the trees, plants and animals there.
The rooms are nice and functional. Beds were great.

The owners served a very nice breakfast and gave us great advice and tips about the area.

As said we had the house for us, not sure I would like to spend it with 3 more couples.
