We had an amazing time at Rosie’s cottage. The cottage is very cute and it has all the essentials you might need. Rosie was very hospitable. Perfect location, few minutes walk to the botanic gardens and 10 mins walk to the city centre.

This was a lovely cottage, conveniently located near the Botanic Garden and CBD. I got engaged to my fiancé during my stay and also attended a concert nearby in the gardens. The room includes a bedroom/living space, seperate kitchenette and seperate shower/toilet/laundry room. There is a BBQ, table and chairs outside in a private courtyard.

Pros: 
*Self contained private cottage perfect for two, but there is a roll out if required.
*Private location in a beautiful tree lined street.
*5 min walk to the Botanic Garden.
*10 min walk to CBD.
*15 min walk to Rundle Mall.
*Off street parking (small car)
*Cereal/Milk/Juice/Bread/Tea/Coffee provided.
*Linen, body wash, shampoo/conditioner, laundry liquid provided.
*Lots of space - loads better than a hotel room.
*Lots of books to read if that’s your thing.
*Walk in robe.

Cons:
*Furniture suits the style of the cottage, but has seen better days.
*Needs some general maintenance to cupboard doors and other simple repairs.
*Needed a good dusting.
*The tv is small, but we weren’t there to watch tv. 
*Could do with a pleasant fragrance to make the room more appealing.
*My car wouldn’t fit in the garage/car port, but on street parking was provided with a parking permit.

The owner lives next door, but gives you your privacy. There is also a seperate cottage which shares the driveway/car port but we didn’t see or hear anyone during our stay.

Overall, we had a pleasant stay and would recommend.


Athelney Cottage, pros & cons

Athelney Cottage is an extremely comfortable, tranquil haven, in close proximity to the city, as well as Adelaide’s beautiful parks and gardens. All the comforts one could imagine and a gracious host who pays attention to detail.

Athelney cottage was a little disappointing. It was very stuffy, no windows in the lounge/bedroom area, just double doors with no fly screens. The weather was hot and the outside area was dirty with birds droppings on the chairs and table so we couldn't sit outside. Over priced accommodation for what was offered.

Brilliant position able to walk easily into Adelaide CBD area and near to Botanical Gardens. Beautifully relaxing atmosphere and very clean throughout. Great shower. Dryer not working at the time but clothes dried quickly with heater on. Host unaware until told of same.

An Uplifting experience

The cottage sits off the street in a private area with a large patio.  The decor makes you think you are in Provence, France.  Beautiful.  The room was large and full of comfy furniture. The  kitchen is tight but adequate.  Breakfast provisions are bread, cereal, milk, juice, coffee and tea and they are left in the kitchen. We were able to use the washing machine but there was not a working dryer but the clothesline out back worked beautifully.  We were able to walk to the center of town in about 15 minutes.  The botanical gardens were closer.  Very relaxing and quiet.

Provence in Adelaide

Great location, just on the edge of city centre, close to the botanical gardens.Very nice host who was very informative about the area.Overall i would recommend this apartment.

We had a fantastic time at Westbury cottage. Stayed fir the weekend for a family celebration. 
The accommodation is excellent, with generous living space and 2 bedrooms, both with king beds and exceptional linen and pillows. 
The yard was dog friendly. 
The stylish French interior made us feel “on holiday”. 
I would recommend this BnB. 
We will be booking this for future visits. Thanks Rosie. 

Excellent accommodation, close city, stylish, dog friendly 

Stayed for three nights after long flight from London. Was greeted by Rosie, a lovely lady. The accomodation is a large self contained cottage with separate kitchen with washing machine and tumble dryer and on suite. There is also a courtyard garden, which we did not make use of. The cottage is quietly situated in a residential area, which is a very short walking distance from the beautiful botanical gardens and about 20 min walk from the city. The cottage itself is very tastefully decorated though would benefit a deep clean and information/visitor attraction leaflets being made available. It would also be useful if instructions were available for use of w/machine and tumble dryer. We did struggle a bit for storage as a lot of the drawers were used to store magazines etc (for guests use) so we left a lot of items in suitcases. Overall an enjoyable stay. Quiet, good nights sleep in a comfortable, large bed.

Spacious, convenient though in need of some tlc

I was very disappointed with the accommodation. We had to wash utensils, the cups needed bleaching, the fridge was covered in dirty finger marks, and the furniture looked in need of a steam clean.  The courtyard had 2 metal chairs, no seat pads, no table, it just looked so uninviting even though it was 30 degrees.  There was no information to help us navigate around Adelaide, which having stayed at 10 different places was certainly not the norm, the standards in our previous stays was excellent this one fell at the last hurdle, the only positive was Adelaide which we loved.
