Cabañas Arco Iris

For a three star rating Hector and Ida deliver four star lodging and service. I felt so welcome during my week that it became like family. The apartment is comfortable, good quality, very satisfying. For our week, if we didn't have a utensil for example, we simply had to ask. Grilling outside on the parrilla was fun and socially rewarding. Making new friends is part of my travel goal and Hotel Arco Iris is great for that! Location is good, a short walk to the center of town and only a few hundred meters to a Verduria and a Carniceria. My stay could not have been better!

The two bedroom cabana was great. Both bedrooms and full bath upstairs and an additional bath down. The kitchen was well equipped and the living room comfortable-the furnishings and upholstery are newer than they show up in the photos. Hector hooked us up with a fly fishing guide, Alejandro Buchanan, who was fantastic-we caught tons of trout, including some mighty big ones. The location is a bit further from town than I thought, though totally walkable, but this didn’t bother us. The cabana has an alarm to use for when you go out and it is carbon monoxide and smoke detector equipped. There is a lovely rear garden right on a stream. The only fault I could find is that the towels, while nice and fluffy, smelled of cigarette smoke. I loved all the windows, it would be nice though if a few had screens. There is off street parking which is also nice. Hector told us about a small take out food store, Barbabietola not even a block away that was delicious and exceptionally inexpensive. Will definitely stay again on our return.

We were two couples traveling together in Argentina in November.  We only had six nights at Arco Iris, but next trip to Argentina we will definitely stay longer.  The two bedroom, two bathroom cabana next to the yard and river was very comfortable and had everything we needed.  It was cold and windy during our stay, but the fireplace warmed us nicely.  The little bakery around the corner was visited every morning.  We had lovely dinners every night with a short walk from the cabana.  Hector and Ida were wonderful hosts, and Hector set up two terrific days of fishing for us with Alejandro and Franco, who went above and beyond.  A perfect stay in spite of the colder than usual weather.

We were a half-world away from home, but it was still difficult to leave.  The cabanas are comfortable and maintained exquisitely.  Everything about our stay was enjoyable and relaxing.  All we had to do is fish.  Hector and Ida and their staff took care of the rest.  You can see the attention to detail in the decor, outdoor barbecue facilities, and landscaping.  The Hotel Cabanas Arcos Iris is simply a beautiful place to stay and the proprietors are as warm and friendly as you'll find anywhere.  The best of Argentina is found here!

These cabañas are new and modern, with fully equipped kitchens, covered parking, and everything very tastefully done, freshly painted and all spic-and-span. And unlike others than regardless of how many rooms they have still have only 1 bathroom, Arco Iris has two bedrooms (plus sofabed in living room) and two FULL bathrooms, which is great.

Ida and Hector are also very sweet. When we initially had a problem where for health reasons we needed to cancel last minute, they even offered a full refund (which per their terms they clearly were not obliged to do, especially with a last-minute cancellation)! (Finally, we did end up going anyway, and were glad we did.)

The cabañas back onto a very pleasant stream. No. 1 is closest to the road and No. 5 is closest to the stream, so try to get No. 5 if you want to overlook the stream and have the sound of water lull you to sleep.

The location is about a 10-minute walk from the town center, which was a good combination of being close without being too close.
