Ecolodge Puro Moconá

Puro Moconá Lodge & Tours is a most charming hotel located directly at the Rio Uruguay on the south-side of El Soborbio at 300m of the bus terminal. The very quiet hotel offers cabins placed in a large garden, each cabin with 2 separate rooms & private garage; a restaurant, a gym, and a large terrace with pool. The staff is friendly and attentive. We made a reservation over the phone. The room was very nice, the garden superb, the view of the river great and the pool nice. Our room had a very good queen-size bed, a bench that can be used as an extra single bed, air-conditioning, tea-making facility, fridge, walk-in wardrobe, balcony with a large bench and view of the river, and no TV and no safe. We had a bathroom with washbasin, shower, toilet and bidet. All was very clean. Windows can be opened and but unfortunately have no mosquito screens. In the restaurant you find good food. The wine list is nice. The kitchen sticks literally to the menu and is totally inflexible. A nice continental breakfast is served: rolls & croissants, toast & pastries, fresh fruit salad, butter, ham & cheese, marmalade & dolce-de-leche, home made lime lemonade, tea & coffee. The hotel offers pricey tours to Moconá & Encantado waterfalls. To Moconá ARS 19,400 per person. Note that a taxi for a day is charged at ARS 12,000 and the micro-bus at 08:00 from the town centre is ARS 4,000 per person. The latter can be reserved at the tourist info. We were very pleased with the garden and the quietness of the place and we had a very nice stay. Highly recommended.
