We spent only one night there but I have to say it was fantastic. Friendly and family access of Juan and Graciela was unforgettable and made our stay as we should be at home. Many thanksk for this.

Juan and Graciela are wonderful hosts!  They welcomed us "home" almost every time we arrived back from our days out touring or having dinner in town.  They are very helpful with local information and are always happy to answer any questions or talk about the local culture and history.

We shared a 3 bed room with the shared bathroom.  Very comfortable beds and a nice big room.

They were very accommodating with breakfast when we had to leave early to catch our flight, and had nice recommendations for places to eat.  We had a car, so it was easy to get up the hill.  It was nice to stay with a family that loves what they are doing and welcome everyone in as if they are part of their family.

my wife and i stayed at posada de angel for two nights in november 2016. we used it as a staging area for a boat tour of the glaciars and before a trip to el chaltén. the property is a quaint b&b in a private home. the rooms are comfortable and spotless. the breakfast is standard argentine fare: media lunas, sandwiches, toast with various jams, fruit, and coffee. what makes the property special, however, is juan. he is a perfect host: welcoming, charming, knowledgeable about the town and area, and hyper-attentive to serving his guests. we highly recommend the property.

one small downside of the property for those planning to walk around town is that it is a 15-minute walk from the restaurants, shops, and banks of the city center. what makes this interesting in el calafate are the packs of roving dogs. while my wife and i did not encounter any aggressive behavior, it can still be disconcerting to be followed for blocks by large semi-feral hounds. we also thought it wise to finish all walking before sunset (although one could always get a taxi for later). the upside to this location, particularly for those planning to catch the 7:30am or 8am buses to el chaltén, is that it is only a 7 minute walk from the bus terminal.

We booked a room with 3 beds and shared bathroom. The hosts were really nice and helpful. They recommended us a lot for places and restaurants. They even packed the leftover breakfast to eat during the cruise. The location was a bit distance from the centre but the taxi was just next door. The room and bathroom were clean and big. Love this place.

Fantastic

The hosts made me feel very welcome and offered me tea or coffee when I arrived. The room was very comfortable with good free wifi and plenty of hot water. Breakfast was good - typically Southern with cheese, scrambled eggs, instant coffee. I would have liked some fruit on the table, however. Hosts helped with booking buses and airport transfer. The only disadvantages might be for some (didn't bother me) that it is 12 minutes walk uphill (steps or longer road) and lots of dogs barking at night. Also there is a discount of 5% if payment made in $US or €. Credit card is charged 20% extra. Debit card incurs no charge. I did not know of these charges beforehand.
