Hostel El Gaucho

Really really good hostel,  very close to the center of bariloche. Quiet,  nice rooms, 2 equipped kitchens, good vibe and the staff is really really friendly, kind and nice,  will help you with anything you need. 
And the best shower in south America. 
I've been here twice, recommend you all to go.

The main thing that stays in my mind from staying at this hostel is how helpful the owners were. They gave us so much great advise about sight seeing, buses, walking, cycling etc etc. Also the showers were AMAZING, which makes such a difference when you're travelling. The breakfast was really good as well and the hostel was warm and clean. Really recommend staying here if you want to explore beautiful Bariloche.

My family and I had a great stay at El Gaucho. Tito and his family were so helpful and kind. We stayed in room 9 which was a private room for 4 people. It had a nice view and was very comfortable. It's location is great. Far enough away from the main street to be quite at night but very close to restaurants, grocery store, Club Andino Bariloche, and the lake. It is definitely not a party hostel but perfect for recovering from difficult trekking adventures.

One of the best hostels

Loved it.

Very comfortable

Me and my girlfriend stayed in a private room for one night. It had Korean styled shower which goes straight onto the floor. Very over priced for what we got. I've stayed in much better hotels in the center of Buenos Aires for a better price. The staff spoke no English and weren't very helpful. Over all just way to average. perhaps has others have said the Dorm environment is better, but for private rooms I don't recommend this place.

Better options out there

The atmosphere was friendly enough but we stayed in a double room and it was not nearly as nice as comparably-priced places in Bariloche we stayed in later. The shower was the type that the water goes straight onto the floor (no stall, only a mop). Breakfast was really sparse - a few pieces of white bread and coffee/tea. Wifi only worked for 5 minutes - I think they may have a limit on the number of active signals. Very noisy late into the night. I think this place could be fine if you're looking for a festive dorm experience but is not great for those wanting a private room.
