Tangoinn Hostel Soho

I spend two nights in this hostel.
I met many nice people over there, the atmosphere was great. The first evening I went to diner with a french guy, we came back very late, without any problems at the door. The second evening we stayed at hostel, drunk a beer and played some pool. 
The service is good, people are nice.
The breakfast is small, but You can eat enough.

One of the best hostels I've ever stayed!! Great staff, awesome parties!!

Stayed here for a few days in Feb, loved it! It’s big, it’s full of people, there are so many parties going on! It’s a great hostel to meet up people if you travel solo! True, a bit noisy and not the place is old and grumpy travellers and those who do not like the hostel’s atmosphere!! The garden is fabulous and as it was summer we enjoyed bbq outside! 

It’s 15 minute walk to the centre and the bars, only a short walk to the bus terminal!

I’d go again!!

Good Hostel, nice atmosphere

This hostel was relatively close to the bus station but a good 20 walking minutes away from the town center. We don't mind walking though, and there are some public transportation options if you are feeling lazy. 

The staff was really great: very nice and helpful. There are two computers with reasonable internet, although sometimes there were children using them for hours to play games. You have the option of leaving your backpacks after you leave the hostel for a very small fee.

Breakfast was great, at least compared to the rest of the places we stayed at in Patagonia. Delicious pancakes with dulce de leche are served in the morning.

There is a really nice garden. We only stayed during the week and were always exhausted after long days of adventures, but we heard that there are often pretty great parties and other social functions.

The rooms were rather ungraceful and, even though they were technically clean, they felt dirty and looked like working barricades. The restrooms were quite uncomfortable, with the shower being in the middle of the space and water falling into the WC, sink, trashbin, etc. while showering. After showering, you have to mop the floor. 

With all that said, the price was very low and it was worth sacrificing some comfort to spend the extra money in bike rentals, rafting, and other great activities that the area has to offer.

Good low-cost option

Even though I had read the poor reviews I was arriving late so wanted somewhere close to the bus station. I mean how bad could it be I thought….well quite bad! The staff at the Tango Inn Soho were very friendly and helpful but that was the end of the good points. I was in a 4 bed dorm with a 5 year old, so yes the other comments that the no child policy is untrue are valid. There were no ladders up to the top bunks and it was near impossible to haul yourself up. They are also very narrow so I feared rolling over and falling out during the night. In addition to this they were unstable, anytime either of us moved they would sway and it felt like they were about to fall apart. The mother of the child had started off in the bottom bunk with her but then had dragged the mattress down from the top onto the floor, I don’t really blame her as the top bunks are unsafe, however it also meant there was no room to walk at all let along for me to jump down from the top. The bathroom was not very clean and in my case it was covered with a 5 year old girl’s washing. Breakfast was very poor and not really worth eating.

Local buses from the bus station into town seem to run quite late so you would be better to get a bus into town and stay somewhere else. The walk from the bus station was about 15min which was also longer than I expected. Hint - In order to ride the local buses you will need to buy a ticket from the ticket office called ‘3 de Mayo’ inside the bus terminal. If it is closed when you arrive I’d still chance getting on the bus as there might be a local who is willing to pay for you with their charge card.
