Antiguo Solar Bed & Breakfast

The proprietors of this small b&b made me feel right at home. They familiarized me with the area; served homemade bread and cake for breakfast; provided enormously helpful suggestions, directions, and assistance. [Though I came to Bariloche primarily to ski at Catedral, hiking at Llao Llao park, an inexpensive municipal bus ride away, was a highlight of my trip — I have them to thank for the recommendation.] The room was comfortable and well maintained, the ambiance pleasant and informal, and I appreciated access to the kitchen, the convenience of the refrigerator and microwave. The WiFi was noticeable faster than mine at home in the U.S. The location was ideal, a little outside the more touristy part of town but still convenient to all the restaurants, a terrific supermarket, and, crucially, the bus stop, 2 blocks away, 30-45 minutes to Catedral, 60 pesos each way, you’ll need to get a SUBE card before you get on the bus, and be aware that the return bus stop isn’t the same.
