We arrived having booked parking with the hotel before as requested.  No space whatsoever outside the hotel so told by the receptionist that we had to park in the port next door and that when a space outside the hotel became available we could move there. That night it was made so unpleasant for my husband to collect something from the car he then moved it to outside the hotel. Online it states clearly that free street parking is available. Nevertheless we find a parking fine on the car when we come to leave and when we remonstrate we have the owner screaming at us that it’s nothing to do with them.
This is only part of the sad story
This was the first hotel in Albania where I was asked to pay on arrival. It was also the most expensive and I was looking forward to something worthwhile. 
The room we were given had wires hanging out of the wall either side of the bed. Also out of the light socket for the bathroom. The potential for a disaster was huge! The wardrobe was unfinished.... no rail. It seemed as though the builders had not finished the job. 
We were eventually given a pleasant room downstairs but the whole process took over an hour. However still one small light for the whole room. Hard to see the contents of your case let alone read a book. Bedside lights were provided the second night.
Breakfast was a totally grim affair. You walked by the lady ironing the sheets to an institutional basement room where the only small high window was covered with a curtain through which you could see the feet of people passing by on the pavement! The room was totally stark with fierce lighting. A very basic buffet. We’d come from a hotel the day before in Gjirokaster which cost half the price with a beautiful breakfast in a garden. Here there weren’t even saucers for your cups. You sat with the sound of the dishwasher going. It has to be the worse breakfast experience ever. 
To the credit of the owner we were given breakfast upstairs the next morning but that doesn’t make it a great experience for others. Also it was most unfortunate that in the restaurant next morning people were running around with mops as water was pouring through the ceiling. 
This hotel is taking the money for a luxury hotel and providing a third rate experience. I suspect that the recent refurbishment,which doesn’t seem complete, has meant that public areas have been turned into more bedrooms removing a decent area for breakfast. 
All this and then a scene over the parking, The owner eventually said she’d pay the fine. I hope so

Like Fawlty Towers but with no fun!

Pryor to coming here i had high expectations.
I was told that it was close to the port and had e good sea view But thats all it has in a nutshell
I was surprised that for €50 you don't get what you should after all it is not very cheap considering you have other hotels in the area that turns out are much better value for money and offer a much better service. The staff was great very friendly and apolgetic but felt powerless to justify the failures of the management. The condition of the room wasn't great Tv did not work Shower didn't have hot water and you had to hold it yourself which is not very practical and that shouldn't be the case in a hotel that charges that much.
They had cracked tiles on the floor which if you were wearing shoes was ok but if you weren't then god help you. Swimming pool didn't have many recliner chairs and those that were were occupied with towels on them all day long and the rest were broken so you had to lay your towel down on the tiles to sunbathe.

A let down

Hotel Palma is literally next door to the ferry port for Corfu. Service on arrival was relaxed and good, with useful information and relevant offers of assistance. Our family room was huge, with five beds and a couch, a dining table, refrigerator and separate bathroom and shower room. Outsize balcony to match, with a view of the harbor and beach. There is a swimming pool, and, in spite of the early evening hour, staff came right out with towels when our kids came to use it. Breakfast is good, too, with freshly cut fruits and a good choice otherwise, too.
