This is a lovely hotel and I couldn't fault it. The rooms are very modern and close to the pool. All the staff were very friendly. It is an easy walk to the centre and frequent buses to the centre or Ksamil.  I will definitely stay at this hotel again, Shame it closes in October.

Lovely hotel, with friendly staff

I visited a family relative in Saranda and wanted to take my 2 children (age 11 and 7) to the nearest beach. Barracuda resort came up with a swimming pool and access to the sea. 
When we arrived, staff spoke in English and we were told that beds with umbrellas are reserved for hotel residents, as it’s a busy season, but I could have a bed with umbrella by the sea. We were allowed to use the pool as the sea had no beach and was deep, with sea urchins and not suitable for children. Umbrellas and beds by the pool, were 20% in occupancy. Before we settled, we were asked for the payment of £18 or 2300Leke.  
All that was ok until we unpacked and I realised that I couldn’t leave children on their own in the poll as it was quite deep.  The walk to our bed was far and inconvenient. Children weren’t allowed to lough, talk loudly, splash, jump, or make any noice while in or near the swimming pool. We were not allowed to walk barefoot while not in the pool. There was a member of staff telling children off if they made any type of noise. I quickly realised that this place had no life and called my husband, who spoke in Albanian, to have a word with the person in charge to refund us the money, as this was something I’ve never experienced before. At one point a member of staff confiscated a blowup ring from a child for splashing in the pool. My 7y old twisted his ankle when he tried to put wet foot inside the slider shoes. 
Of course no one would refund us any money.
At the end we left as my yonder sons’ hands came up in blisters and started to bleed from trying to hold on to the edge of the pool that was made of a special stone that easily pierced child’s soft hands. My older son, also had blisters on both hands, but not as bad as the youngest. 
Overall, I have to say, I was hugely disappointed. 
This place is not for children or families. I felt sorry for those that stayed there, as their children had to be on their best behaviour and were not allowed to have fun. It’s crazy… I just wondered, who were they trying to impress? Parents on constant guard trying to calm their children. 
Staff is so rude and unhelpful. They could clearly see that my bag, towels, money and phone had-to be left where my umbrella was (about 50 metres away, behind the hotel), as I wasn’t allowed to keep it near the pool, despite majority of the beds and umbrellas were empty by the pool, nobody said anything. Absolutely ridiculous!  
My advice- avoid this place...  there are many nicer places to stay. And if with children, Ksamil is perfect.

Hugely disappointed with Barracuda beach and pool

We stayed in a room with sea view and we loved the room. It was spotless and staff was cleaning room every day! Bed was comfortable and we had sleep. Air conditioning worked perfectly. Showers are really nice. You have tv and many channels and WIFI is very strong, better than one we have home and wifi worked perfectly everywhere:room, beach, restaurant, parking.. parking is private and ok. Breakfast really ok and you can take whatever you want. The best is that beach is 3meters from the room. Personel working at hotel were extraordinary great, especially our waiter Alket :) He went with us to show us Pasqura beach in Ksamil in his free time and this was not his job. We will definitely come again. And dear receptionist Ada made this magic to happen by answering all our messages and inquieries over whatsup before we arrived. 
We also got free breakfast first day that we arrived. Amazing place, once more!:)

Amazing amazing - we are comming again

Average price hotel, very nice view from the pool area. For us it was very annoying to listen that kind of music they was playing almost around the clock. The music was noisy, boring and 90’s disco and from back in the 2000’s; Rihanna’s first hits, Coco Jambo and so on. That kind of beautiful scenery would have deserved more variaton of music and absolutely more like ambient music (chill out, jazz, etc). In the last morning there was also one huge  disappointment for us; we had very early check out time (because the bus pick-up) and the hotel stuff had promised to make us some breakfast package that we could take with us, but they only made those for few residents, not all of us. They also said that they ”do not know anything about the breakfast package”, although they had already made them for some residents. Big minus for that!

Last minute disappointment

Great hotel with super friendly and helpful staff. Location just 10 minutes of the beach walk with great breakfast and food for lunch and evening served at the restaurant. Plenty of sun beds by the pool and on the terrace at the ocean front.

The staff are extremely bad. Always frowning, angry, slow. We were trying to have a good time, always being let down by the staff. God forbid if we tried to have some fun in the pool. We were immediately reprimanded for "splashing" in the pool. The pool has water! What do you expect? The hotel only Looks good. That's it. If you want to have a nice holiday, stay away from this hotel. You'll have a better time if you go somewhere where there is nothing, just you and the sea.

When bad people ruin good facilities

Top location for beach life and nightlife,perfect view, especially sunrise and sunset are spectacular,from our room we had a big panorama all over Saranda,very clen rooms,very comfy bed!I would turn back!I highly reccomend this place!

SUPERB

Stayed in the barracuda studio. Ground floor apartment would not stay in this room again smelt of damp but had all the facilities that you need and loads of beds!
We loved the big pool and the buffet breakfast was great. They operate a chip coin system which you collect every morning (for free) then pay for your breakfast and sunbed. Was slightly annoying asking everyday for you coins then paying for breakfast when the waiter knew your name and we were staying there. 
Location was good took us 20 minutes to walk the the main beach front strip but restuarant and shops all along the way so no need to walk that far every time.
Didn't use the private beach as it was not suitable for our 8 year old.
Hotel wants paying up front in cash when you get there. Trying to find a cash point when we arrived was not what in was expecting .
Overall an average hotel with a great pool. Would stay again just not in that room

Great pool

Terrible experience. We booked an apartment. Interior was fine although a/c was not cooling properly. We used the swimming pool as the staff told us we were allowed to. The night was terrible. We could hear everything from the hallway and all apartments around us. Very loud people. Around 1am we went to the reception and the morning after as well. Our problems were not taken seriously and upon request of compensation for the awful night the staff told us rudely we should be lucky we had used the pool as this was not part of the booking. The staff did not believe we heard otherwise from the staff the day before. Prices were as high as in Europe, but the service far from high. The private beach is not true, it's from someone else and you have to pay for it.
