Ridavillage

I can only echo the comments of Omar (Dubai): we chose Rida hoping to have some tranquility away from the bustling streets and bars and we got this. The hospitality provided by the family who run Rida was superb. The food offered for breakfast, lunch and dinner was excellent. Ksamil was bigger than I expected, obviously growing fast; new, shiny, modern hotels are going up everywhere. As you arrive in Ksamil, the roads are congested, partly because men with cards advertising apartments to rent flag down cars to negotiate a deal; the cars behind stop because the road is narrow. There are many restaurants, cafes, bars, some tourist shops, a bakery. I’m sure the choice of accommodation will keep growing, offering something for everyone. We needed google maps to find Rida - the roads are confusing. Rida is on a road which exits Ksamil, a tracked road on a slight incline, the accommodation is on the left and the parking opposite. Entering Rida, you first see the restaurant and bar/ seating area, beautifully decorated and with welcome shade. Behind this, there are the clusters of buildings with the guest accommodation, effectively in the garden, amongst olive trees: all single storey, I think just 12 rooms of different sizes. We had two double rooms: very thoughtfully constructed and decorated, with good a/c, a comfortable bed, enough room for our bags, a little outside seating and a bathroom which was fine (the shower was the only negative, mostly because it flooded outside the shower area). The family who run Rida are very welcoming and work very hard to make guests feel comfortable and looked after. We walked to a nearby beach - 7 minutes walk on the road, a little up and down. Down the road and turn left you are further from the beach bars which are blasting their music all day and into the evening. We drove to nearby Laguna Beach - terrible road to reach it, beautiful and sandy beach when we got there. We loved it.
