We spent a week in Albania. In that time we changed our hotel every day, and this is the only one we regret not staying any longer. Starting with the rooms that have a unique atmosphere above the terraces that each room had, the view of the room gives you the feeling of finally being able to relax and just breathe through. What should be especially emphasized, however, are the hosts! From the beginning you have welcomed us warmly, that in every situation a table reservation in the best restaurant or excursion recommendations helped. The first meal was prepared with heart and it was taken to our wishes. We warmly remember this place.

The house is beautifully located in the old town. It is beautifully restored and is lovingly managed by the very friendly owners. The climb is a bit tedious as the hotel is not accessible by car. But the road is not far and parking is available.

It's a wonderful place to stay.

you will have a great view, clean rooms in traditional style placed in the monument building and nice host with a great sense of humour speaking languages except for English :)
they serve good breakfast too.

Beautiful traditional room, large enough for 3 people with very comfy beds. Breakfast was very nice and fresh. Host Nasho was very friendly. This place is just amazing and makes you feel like you have stepped back in time. I highly recommend staying here, it's a unique experience with character and atmosphere matching the wonderful old town of Berat.

The hotel is in a strategic position on the old side of the city. The room were comfortable, clean and very beautiful. The WiFi were functioning very well. Good breakfast and Nasho is a fantastic host. The hotel is located in the very center of the old city. The room was comfortable, clean and typical features of the local architecture.

Relaxing in Berat

I don’t really know where to start this review, so I’ll probably start from the beginning. After exclusively stayed on four and five-star hotels we wanted to try something more genuine in Berat. I don’t really know how a genuine home looks in Albania, but I get the feeling that Nasho Vruho comes really close. Unfortunately the owners Nasho & Rezi speaks just a few words of English but they have an employee that speaks good English. However that person wasn’t here all the time so communication was a little bit of a challenge. We sorted most of the things out with google translate and a couple of phone calls to their contacts. Nasho & Rezi really turned themself inside out to make our stay as pleasant as possible. The guesthouse itself is a labyrinth of rooms and no rooms are the same. We got the feeling that they probably expanded with a new room wherever there was space enough to build - charming! We first got a room on the top-floor with a private terrace and a spectacular view! However there was a steep ladder to climb which wasn’t that great when you’re traveling with a toddler and a stroller. Also, that room was small and with a celling height of about 160 cm it wasn’t that convenient if you’re 190 tall. For the next two nights we got another room (number 3) that was accessible directly from street level. That room was big and spacious with a courtyard/terrace that we shared with two other rooms but with a own private part of the terrace. The breakfast was spartan but probably genuine Albanian. We could probably had a better breakfast, more suited for us, if the communication was a little bit easier.

Some other pros
* The owners hospitality, and their homemade wine! They offered us a bottle to share on the terrace one evening after we managed to put our son to sleep early.
* Really clean rooms that felt fresh and cozy! Please share me your secrets about cleaning Rezi!
* Watch out for the adorable and cute turtles on the courtyard, they are hard to see until you know they are there.
* Air condition works great, WiFi works okay at least for TripAdvisor.

Some other cons
* Seems to be no daily housekeeping, even if they say so. Would be nice to at least have the wastebasket with diapers emptied every day.
* We don’t agree about that the rooms should be soundproofed. You could easily hear your neighbors sneeze, snore, talk to each other and go to the toilet.
* If you don’t speak Albanian, Italian, France or German the communication will be a challenge.
* No curtains that blocks the sunlight in the morning from entering your room.

However, Nasro and Rezi hospitality really compensated for the few cons and turned a average rate to a excellent!

Odd and genuine experience

A very pleasant shaded terrace with breathtaking views (request a room in the high streets) and not to waste anything a low-maintenance guest: a welcome in French, luggage brought to you when the rooms are located on the heights of the neighborhood, a delicious breakfast (cookies and homemade jams) one of the best addresses of our trip to Albania

charm and friendliness

The warmth of a guest house and the care in the details of a boutique hotel. It is welcomed by the kindness and availability of the owners in an old traditional house made of wood and stone in the very picturesque Mangalem district. The rooms are a snack, almost all equipped with balcony or garden with table and chairs from where to admire the splendid panorama over the river and the mosque. The rooms are small, (not ours that was on the first floor, wide, with fireplace running!) but it is obvious because the house is an old house.
