Lumen & The Lisbon Light Show Hotel

Lumen Lisbon is an amazing hotel, with a great location is surely my favorite in Lisbon! And, as a traveling guide, I know a few. Let me start by talking about the staff, for it's the first thing ones sees as we enter: the front desk is incredibly courteous, accommodating and kind professionals, always willing to go above and beyond for us (special mention to Benedita, Beatriz, Carlos,...), they truly make you feel at home! The porterage service and housekeeping are always willing, available and very helpful (my shirts are washed and ironed full speed and look perfect!). Then the rooms: spacious, well thought of distribution whise, big closets with regular hangers, the showers have great controlable pressure and the rain shower makes you wanna stay there forever; the lighting is the most adequate, adaptable to our needs (you just need to figure out the switches, but it's easy!); there's a big and comfortable working space and the double beds are actually big and very comfortable beds. And they even have a tablet where you can manage your stay, from checking restaurant menu to order a pillow suitable to your likings... Has I said, amazing!! If all of the above wasn't enough, specially for someone like me that spends months in the year in hotels and needs to rest, then you have the most complete, healthy, nutritious and delicious breakfast; a nice gym where you can burn the breakfast calories; a bar with great cocktails, and, as a portuguese native, I must admit I love the light show at 10pm by the pateo. Now, today the fire alarm went off, woke the entire hotel at 5.40 am, the staff was struggling to shush it, and for more than an hour there was an uncomfortable situation. The important part was that it was a false alarm, nobody was at risk, and the night staff on duty (Evgeny and Filipe) did an amazing job trying to find a fast solution and facing a bunch of annoyed hotel guests: they kept calm and collected, they were nice and amicable, and addressed everyone's concerns about the situation in the most professional way. Congrats!! This is what makes the Lumen an excellent hotel, the combination among great comfort, variety of services and amenities and, most important, the staff! Because, lets face it, when all's well is easy to be good. Is the way a hotel, company, business, or a guide, faces and handles incidents, keeping the customer in mind, that makes excellence! Thank you to Lumen for all the amazing stays, even with an alarm sounding in the middle of thr night. 😉
