Pine Bay Holiday Resort

We are on our last day, we have been here 2 weeks as a group of 18 (10 adults, 8 children aged between 6-15) we were very apprehensive coming due to all the mixed reviews but we shouldn’t have been, we’ve had an amazing holiday. Rooms- we all stayed in the bungalows and all ours were fine, no issues at all, clean and two bathrooms which was great. Wi-Fi in the room was brilliant and all round the resort. Make sure you request a room either in the 700s, 800s or 900s so then you’re nearer to things. Any lower in number will see you at the top of the hill which is a killer in the heat. Air con in the room was freezing which in the summer is very much needed. Cleaners came daily and we had bedding and towel changes every day. The mattress on the bed was very hard but a WhatsApp to reception got a mattress topper delivered on the day which sorted that, great service. Food Lots of choice in the buffet restaurant, always fresh meat being grilled in front of you, fish, pasta, Chinese food was delicious, fries lots of salad choices, breads, fresh fruit and lots of desserts and a chilled room dedicated to cheese. Breakfast again lots of choice, freshly made omelettes, pancakes, cheese toasties, breads, pastries, fruit, cakes. We took advantage of the a La carte restaurants, and ate at the Italian, Fish, Turkish and Greek. They were all great and catered for the kids separately if they didn’t like the menu. The a La carte restaurants have the most amazing scenery and we’d highly recommend booking not only to break up the buffet visits but just to take in the sunset and views across the bay. Daytime food was perfect, the marina restaurant by the sea was gorgeous with burgers; chicken nuggets, fish and chips grilled chicken and salads, this was table service. The beach bar had salads, chicken burgers and the most amazing doner wraps, this was again table service. Down Pine Street you could get fresh waffles, ice cream, pizza, jacket potatoes, burgers and fries, the kids never went hungry. The coffee shop near the amphitheater was lovely and also had fresh cakes and brownies. Pools Lifeguards on duty at all pools which is great. Be warned around the entertainment pool and the indoor pool the floor is extremely slippery when wet we saw so many people slip and go flying. The entertainment pool had lots of activities during the day and all of us loved the slides. Getting sunbeds was fine so long as you get there early and reserve them with your own towels. We always managed to get beds but had to go early (6.30am) to get shade beds. We did a couple of days by the beach (marina end) and swam with the fish which was nice. Trips/activities We did two boat trips one booked via jet2 and another that we booked privately via Amores. Both were great and we would highly recommend, you visit small bays and can swim in the sea and jump off the boat. We kayaked for free by the marina and some of the group did parasailing and the other water activities which they loved. Bars. The sunset bar (above the buffet) and the Olea bar (above the amphitheater) were amazing, great service at the sunset bar with Sezar and lovely cocktails at Olea bar. Both bars have stunning views across the bay. The Olea bar has a chilled Ibiza feel to it, we loved it. The kids loved asking for mocktails, and the slushes. We always tipped the bar staff. Entertainment We watched some great shows at the amphitheater, and again the views across the bay at night whilst you watched the show was amazing. The shows repeat weekly which is fine, they were great. The hotel has a lot to offer, you’ll never go hungry and the scenery is amazing!! Theres always staff cleaning the grounds. The WhatsApp service to guest relations was amazing and the service so attentive, any questions or requests was just a message away and was dealt with quickly for example request for more towels. Hints and tips Go to the buffet at 6.30pm to avoid the rush or leave it until after 9pm Bring sea shoes for the beach Get down for beds early if you want shade for a family of 4 perhaps 7.30am as by 8am most beds are gone. Enjoy yourselves it’s been an amazing holiday for us.
