Wonderful stay. Excellent facilities. Great location for visiting Addo.

Stellenhof is the most beautiful place - its an oasis, unexpected in the middle of nowhere, and perfectly appointed. It is simply stunning and I really should not share this tip with anyone and keep it all to myself -  but they deserve every success.  The rooms are beautiful, the original Cape Dutch farmhouse building is beautifully refurbished and maintained with breathtaking style, and the Domes are an architectural delight and the ecological design having won prizes on the international sustainability scene.  The personnel are second to none.  7 little ladies working all the hours God gives to make sure each and every guest feels like family.  They are true treasures. The managers Megan and Monique kind and forthcoming, helpful and always aiming to set the bar higher.  Here, you feel like home - except it's better!  Some people I noted have complained about the gravel road you take to reach Stellenhof - forgetting to be grateful that that gravel road in question belongs to Addo national game reserve , so that you drive across the reserve on a private road, seeing the animals for free before you have even arrived at Stellenhof. So you truly have amazing value for money right there and you havent even seen the estate yet! The little township that is close by is definitely the neatest I have seen and in no way can be considered "scary"  - it's the place where the people live who work hard to make your holiday a joy.  So don't let such reviews put you off.  As for gravel roads - if you are driving to Addo you better prepare yourself for plenty of those anyway.
The food is good down home food - and generous portions and it is great not to have to go out looking for restaurants in the area after spending a day driving all day in the park.  The interior decor is gob-smacking, peaceful, tasteful, the rooms are spacious, beds comfortable, linen - good quality, room smells and atmosphere divine and the pool is heated.  What more could you ask for ?  
I am so grateful to be here and am always loathe to leave.  Stellenhof is luxury on a budget, while being paradise on steroids.

Very nice room and the grounds were beautiful with succulents, trees, bushes and flowers.  The dinner and breakfast were delicious and the service exception.  The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Beautiful farm estate with very clean and comfortable rooms. We also loved the minimalistic and stylish layout of all the facilities. We booked one of their domes but received a free upgrade to a bigger room since they didn’t have a lot of guests at that time. The location is perfect for visiting the Addo elephant park but also for a stay in nature to unwind and relax. Staff is extremly friendly. Would love to come back! 

Good value for money,great service from staff .quality of the place is up to standard. Peaceful location. I enjoyed my stay and I will surely be back next year. Last the place is very safe and food is great.

Very comfortable and clean accommodation. Staff always obliging and pleasant. A good breakfast, either continental or English is included in the tariff. The site does have a restaurant. I found the menu a little uninspiring but the food was well prepared and presented. I stayed in one of the Domes which are set in a large well maintained garden.

Great historic guesthouse, close to the main gate of Addo Elephant National Park. Beautiful and comfortable rooms and amazing restaurant. Staff is super friendly. We had a great stay!!!

A wonderful place to stay, eat, chill and go on Addo safaris . We booked a dome room, which was really nice and separated from the main building.  The staff were amazing and the location was absolutely beautiful.  I highly recommend staying here for at least 2 nights.

The only thing, it’s quiet outside so u must buy things in advance if u feel like taking something! And pls follow the directions they send you otherwise you will drive through a township!

 Recommend better route signage from Addo Town road to farm entrance.Exceptionallygood accommodations and meals. Some old style historical buildings plus interesting igloo chalets with very tasteful architecture and finishes. Upmarket and overseas clients will not be disappointed Fabulous and caring people.

A wonderful Hotel in a truly amazing location. I had the most amazing room traditional styling with beautiful touches. The staff on hand were truly hospitable and professional in every way. Dinner at the hotel was beautiful and very well presented as was a true sumptuous breakfast the following morning. 

Beautiful property incredibly stylish.

Very nice estate next to Addo. Rooms are nice and clean. Pool could be a little bit better cleaned and maintained. Water looks dull and some cushions were swimming in the pool. 
When we have been there the chef quit on the day before. Despite that the remaining staff tried their best to compensate. For this circumstances the food was good. However, service suffered. I assume that this will get better with new chef.

Beautiful estate with some challenges

A multi-generational family, we all enjoyed the beauty and tranquility of Stellenhof. The children loved the pool, making their pizzas with the chef, the gardens and swings. We loved the seclusion, the fine dining, and the exceptional cleanliness. The staff were friendly and helpful suggesting places to visit. The day’s game drive to Addo was the highlight of our entire holiday. The drive through Addo park en route to Stellenhof was an especial treat. We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay.

Hidden gem

Just perfect. Great location (even the entrance drive and later the bamboo forest is cool) with all the facilities you can imagine, great beds, lovely surroundings, airco, minibars, etc, etc. The whole crew went above and beyond to make our stay feel right at home (even hooking us up with a full blown Braai kit & cooler box, to braai in Addo). Breakfast just as you like. Perfect stay. 

Perfect stay for Addo visit

lovely experience staying in the eco huts on a lovely working farm. The staff were very helpful (although contact prior to check in could be improved) and they were able to be flexible with breakfast times to suit a pre booked safari. The pool and communal areas were fantastic (BBQ and pizza oven). The surrounding area can be quite confronting with children begging and a lot of general rubbish floating around. The guesthouse is a hidden gem and I would recommend staying for a few days if doing an Addo safari (enter from the north entrance as the roads there are sealed).
