Safran Hotel

The hotel is located on a hill with a fabulous view over Bursa. Was pleasantly surprised with the large comfortable room, perfect for resting after exploring Bursa.  Our stay there was made even easier by a beautiful student working there during her university holidays, who spoke perfect English and was very helpful.  Other staff were very friendly too.  Great breakfasts in a nice airy room. Overall a wonderful place to stay

WE HAD A WONDERFUL THREE DAY STAY AT THE SAFRAN HOTEL WHICH IS A BEAUTIFULLY PRESERVED OLD STYLE TURKISH HOUSE IN THE HISTORIC CENTRE OF BURSA.  THE OWNER AND HIS FAMILY WERE WARM, HELPFUL AND DID EVERYTHING TO MAKE OUR VISIT A SUCCESS.  PRICE IS GOOD.  WE RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL WITHOUT HESITATION.  

What a wonderful hotel! The prices in the hotels in this area are quite high, but the Safran Hotel is very reasonably priced. The owner, Safa, is an absolute gentleman.  His staff,  especially  Shakir, are superb.  We overcame the language barrier very easily with the help of Google translate.  But isn't that what travelling is all about - making real connections with local people? They were so caring and considerate, and couldn't do enough for us.  We left them with a heavy heart, but with new beautiful friendships. The breakfasts are wonderful, the rooms are spotless, it's a real home away from home.  Very nicely situated, close to everything you need in Bursa. 

This old building is beautifully maintained and right up on the little hit above the main historic centre of Bursa, a short walk from the tombs and park overlooking the city. Such friendly staff and a superb breakfast, but our room was simply terrific - spacious comfortable and atmospheric. This is a lovely place to stay whilst enjoying the charming and fascinating sights of Green Bursa.

My room at Safran was very clean, comfortable and lovely, with a spectacular view overlooking the city. Staff were friendly and helpful, although not all speak English. With no lift and a breakfast room on the basement level, this hotel is not appropriate for a guest with mobility issues, but was fine for me. It is a vertical hike from the Koza Han / Ulucamii area, but there are escalators associated with the municipally run handicraft building below.

WHen my plans changed and I had to leave a day early, the management accommodated me despite booking.com's no-refund policy, which I really appreciated.

This Hotel is just perfect: you can fark in front of it, the bedroom is beautiful, clean and comfortable, and you also have a kettle (you can make yourself tea ad coffee FREE!!!). The staff is kind, rich and quality breakfast (buffet). Go for it!

As you already realise this is a small boutique hotel with limited choices of rooms and services. Yet, nicely located on a hill relatively away from the noisy downtown. Yes, you hear the street, but frankly, this is Bursa after all.

I appreciated attention to detail with furniture, decorations, etc. Breakfast was simple, but no disappointment. Staff was very friendly and helpful to us. Hotel was nicely clean.

Irritating detail, wifi was extremely bad. Not that one cannot survive without it, but if a hotel offers a service, it should be working.

A GREAT EXPERIENCE IN THE SAFRAN HOTEL

Comfortable, beautiful

We came by ferry from Istanbul to Mudanya.  We then got a taxi to the hotel (around 70 TL and 25 minutes).

The hotel is well located and within walking distance of many of the historical attractions.  We were in room 6.  This was at the front corner of the property and was bright (there were 6 windows) and airy.

We had two issues.  First, it is near to a busy road and so it is not very quiet in particular if the windows are opened.  Second, when we arrived there was a powerful chemical/detergent smell in the room.  It seems that smoking is allowed in the hotel rooms (there is an ashtray in our room) and we suspect that this smell was an attempt to hide the cigarette smell.  Even with the windows open for long periods over three days there was still a noticeable smell.  

All in all we felt this was not worth 90 euros a night.

Disappointing

I regret to report an extremely disappointing experience at this hotel. Despite having a confirmed reservation for a shared room, the owner refused to accommodate my friend and me solely because we are both men. This discriminatory behavior is unacceptable. I strongly advise against staying at this establishment due to its appalling service.
