I never really have high hopes for airport hotels, but Meliá proved me wrong. Every staff member I encountered was friendly and beyond helpful, especially when it came to ordering dinner and a breakfast box for my gluten-free and other allergy-friendly needs. Room was comfy and perfect for a one-night stay for a very early flight the next day. Loved the toiletries and the mindful coloring pages with mini colored pencils in the room. I finally got to try a pastel de nata thanks to the kitchen putting a gluten free one in my breakfast box! The complimentary shuttle to the airport was also very appreciated as going uphill with my luggage would have been too difficult. Considerate times for both breakfast and shuttle as both started as early as 4:00am. A friend also had a travel emergency that day, and reception made it effortless for me to add her to my room for the night. Everything was just easy and stress-free. Exactly what I hope for before an international flight. I’ll definitely be checking out other Melia hotels because of this experience.
