Aurora Oriental Resort Sharm El Sheikh

There are so many words to share for our recent 2 week holiday at Aurora yet finding the words is hard despite now writing a long review. The hotel predominantly has fab reviews but on the few occasions there is a negative - i can only assume it's the guests with a problem, not the hotels. And I'll get that negative out the way first...some people are so blimmen rude and it was an embarrassment to watch how some people spoke to the staff at the hotel and reacted when they were spoken to. We spent two weeks here and the holiday blues have well and truly set in. What an incredible hotel filled with the most friendliest hard working staff. They really do go above and beyond to make you feel welcome and relaxed. A tip goes a long way and they truly deserve it for the extra miles they put in. Shout outs to Karim Ahmed who cleaned our room and kept us topped up with daily water, tea & coffee, clean towels and a spotless room. Salama Mohammad and Mohammad for ensuring we always had a table and brought us drinks every meal time in the restaurant, Azzam who booked taxis and entertained the kids on more than one occasion, Ahmed the beach lifeguard, Mohammad Atia and Mina at the beach bar for ensuring we always had a drink (& capturing the moment my partner proposed) and Mohammad and Ahmed at the pool bar who our children absolutely doted on and always made sure we had sunbeds, a parasol and a drink in our hands. I feel the thanks extends further than this as every employee we passed was kind, courteous, and so friendly - gardeners, security, reception staff, maintenance, watersports, the sales reps (particularly Samir & Abdullah who we liaised with)...such wonderful people who contributed to our amazing holiday. The hotel itself is immaculate. So clean with beautifully maintained gardens, crystal clear waters, nice rooms, and stunning views. The food was fresh, delicious and so much choice...the kitchen staff and chefs work tirelessly. The themed nights were great. My only suggestion here would be to advertise the outside BBQ more. We didn't notice it until after a few nights of being there and I'm not sure if some people ever noticed it at all but definitely worth a visit. The beach is my favourite place and this did not disappoint. The waters were warm, clear and shallow - perfect for our little ones to splash about and enjoy. There is a jetty to a deeper roped off area where you can also snorkel. We saw so many beautiful fish. The watersports are reasonably priced and the guys that run it were good fun. Dennis the Menace (camel) was a fab authentic addition to the beach and worth a ride. The father and son guiding the rides are lovely people! The swimming pools are well maintained. Our favourite was the pool bar because we liked Mohammad and Ahmed who worked there plus it was next to the play area which our son enjoyed. The pool with the swim up bar is definitely worth a visit. We only went in the main pool when it was the foam party but that was an awesome experience. The following week they did the foam party on the beach and it was a LOT of fun reliving my youth. We didn't get involved with much of the entertainment but we saw lots of people having fun and joining in with zumba, volley ball, stretching and other activities. There were some evening shows but we usually missed these as the kids were shattered by then. It's worth venturing outside the hotel where there are a few shops and restaurants. It's a nice atmosphere. We also did a boat trip and a trip to Soho square. We found the people here equally as friendly, helpful and welcoming. Thank you to everyone at Aurora who made our holiday so special. You are all amazing. Would we go again...? Without a doubt!
