Hôtel Emile Le Marais

Booked this due to being near Gare de Lyon, 15/20 minute walk to the hotel from here. Alternatively, you can also get the Metro. Hotel is just off main road surrounded by cafés and restaurants. The Metro is also a short walk from the accommodation. Check in with seamless and I chose to pay on arrival. I was under no illusion when I booked this that the room was compact, and that is certainly the case. I was by myself but if there were two of you in the room with suitcases, you would not have much room left to manoeuvre. Also, if you were two friends who decided to share the room, please bear in mind that the shower has no privacy curtain! Having said that I really liked it, the bed was super comfy and I had a massive window that letting lots of natural light. The shower was great as it had lots of water pressure and hot water. Very quiet in the evening, I was concerned about the street noise but the double glazing dealt with that. Breakfast was included but this was very basic however what they did provide was very nice. If you do want a bigger breakfast, I would advise going out and getting something, you won’t find it difficult as there are restaurants and cafés surrounding the hotel. If travelling alone, I would certainly come back here. If travelling with friends or a partner, I would certainly opt for a bigger room.
