Splendid Hotel & Spa Nice

I stayed here in August 2024 with my mother. We originally had a holiday to Mederia booked, but due to issues with the hotel, Jet2 offered us an alternative destination - Nice! I have stayed in France over 8 times, but never ventured to the Riviera. The drive to the Spendid Hotel does not disappoint! The boulevard is lined with palm trees and the views of the clear blue sea are simply breathtaking! Upon arrival to the hotel, we were swiftly checked in by the reception staff and given a room on the second floor. The reception area is large, cool (well needed when the temperatures soar above 30 degrees!) and has access to the Spa, gym etc. Off the reception area. Our room on the second floor overlooked the street, aligned with the NESPO restaurant. We had a very small balcony (enough to stand on and watch passers by/smoke a cigarette), which was a pleasant addition to our room. The rooms are large with plenty of wardrobe space. There is a mini bar, which is filled daily (staff come around with a trolley and ask if you'd like anything replenished) - we did not use this service. The rooms are a little dated, but decor is traditional for France. The bathroom in our room was large. We had both a shower and a bath, and the hotel provided us with a bag of toiletries. If you're taller than me (5ft 3) you probably won't fit in the very petite bath! We had breakfast in the hotel, which ran for several hours, suitable for those who aren't necessarily early risers. Breakfast is plentiful with lots to offer. There are croissants, toast, bread, jam, fruit, salad, sausages, eggs, bacon etc on offer. The croissants and scrambled egg were particularly delicious! The breakfast is served on the roof of the hotel and provides a fantastic paranomaic view of Nice. On an evening, if you don't want to venture too far there is a rooftop bar with stunning night time views of the coast. There is a spa, pool and plenty of seating area up there. We did not use the pool or jacuzzi but many did during our stay. We ate in the restaurant one evening and must say the burgers were divine! Just a heads up, if you don't like your burgers medium rare, ask for them extremely well done! The cocktails were also moresome. I could not fault this hotel, so much so, I have already booked to return in August 2025! Amazing hotel, fantastic location from the beach (5 minute walk), restaurants (scattered all around the vicinity), and shopping area (7 minute walk). Transfer from the airport takes less than 10 minutes, too. What more could you want?
