Scandic Honningsvåg

All went nice and smooth. Really nice and good staff  who were helpful

Stayed here for 2 nights as part of a legers coach tour. The hotel is basic and could do with a refurb but it was perfectly adequate for what we needed. The room and shower room were small but clean. No tea/coffee facilities. No mini bar. Lovely views over the harbour and perfect location for nearby trails and local area and access to Nordkapp. The food was pretty much the same both days but was delicious. It can get busy in the restaurant as multiple coach groups arrive at various times.

Thanks for a wonderful stay! The hotel is well situated on the island of Magerøya and a good hub to visit the island.

We’ll definitely come back for a longer stay and to explore more.

The breakfast is delicious, the staff extremely friendly and we even got a packed to go breakfast because we checked out really early.  

Arrived early in the morning but was allowed to check in anyhow.  Excellent breakfast buffet included.  24 hour front desk service.  Basic room with good internet speed.

Lovely stuff, very kind to dogs! Question will be answered within minutes, further information about the place are suddenly given! My dog appreciate the kindness of the stuff. Many thanks for the service!

I had booked the Scandic Bryggen in June 2019 for a February 2020 stay but found out I was moved to Scandic Honningsvåg due to renovations. Of course I was surprised to find this out myself when I did not get a reply to my emails about transportation services to the hotel and went to the Scandic webpage to see that the Scandic Bryggen was closed from November 2019- April 2020!!  I saw a reply from the Scandic Honningsvåg manager Emily Liane Peterson on TripAdvisor to a comment someone left so I reached out to her.

Don’t know why the bad reviews, the service at the Scandic Honningsvåg was excellent! From the warm welcome from Sonia at reception, my room, 308 with a wonderful view of the harbor, mini refrigerator in the room to the complementary breakfast. Since I am a Scandic member the vouchers I received paid for my sodas & snacks too which are expensive in Norway. Also, It is okay to drink the water from the tap. I was told it is the same as the water they sell in the stores so you can fill your water bottle and put it in the fridge.

I had come to Honningsvåg specifically to visit North Cape but the roads had been closed unbeknownst to me for eleven day before I arrived.  That was okay with me since it had taken me so long to travel to Honningsvåg from Los Angeles CA.,  I just relaxed in my room after I’d had ventured into the elements. Lucky for me the roads opened on my last day in Honningsvåg so I did visit North Cape!

I asked to stay in the lobby after I checked out to wait for my evening flight, weather was bad, and was allowed to stay a little longer in my room rather than the lobby, great customer service. Thank you again Emily!

I enjoyed my conversations with Sonia & Emily the 4 days I was there.  It took me 15 hours from London to get to Honningsvåg which took me into the next day. I look forward to returning to Scandic Honningsvåg  again.

Not the newest style hotel and your can see that it has had some wear and tear over the years.The bathroom had a very musty odor, and it was very hard to adjust the temperature of the water, which seemed to have no pressure in the shower. In the sink there was plenty of pressure. All the drains seemed a bit clogged too.The walls and door had a lot of marks and the matresses in the room were very soft.Apart from these minor things the stay was nice. The staff were helpful too and there was good parking opportunity if you are coming by car. They also have electric car charging which I used.

Nice hotel

Compared to many other Scandic hotels that I have stayed in, that one is just the average and if you take count of the location, I think that is a good result.

The room was ok, little bit weird though with the diagonal bed, but that was ok. Everything was fine and all the things you needed was there.

Buffet dinner and breakfast was just ok. Have had much better in Scandic hotels though. 

The hotel should improve the parking for the coaches, really annoying to get the card and afterwards having to get it back to the reception. They could give the driver a code or code the door card to work with the parking lot too as it is 21st century already.

Except the parking, nothing much to complain about.

Oh, well, one thing… when I tried to call the next day after the stay, then the system answered, had me choose my options and when it was time for the hotel to really answer, then no one did. Tried about 10 times with different languages, but the answer was always beep-beep-beep. That is a pity as I was calling back after they had called me about one parking issue.

Average Scandic experience

The situation is very good in the center and they have a good parking area. The breakfast included all the basic elements. The rooms are not new anymore, but quite nice, anyway. We had a nice view through the window to the harbour and see. The only thing is that there's really no sound proofing doors, all the noices from the corridor could be easily heard. From outside you couldn't hear anything. Still I could stay here again.

Wind blowing hard as we entered Honningsvag and checked into Scandic Honningsvag Hotel. Nice size room with twin beds and only one built-in luggage rack. Nice size desk with two electric outlets, but no lamp or lighting over the desk. The TV was placed in the center of the desk, not very convenient to watch from bed. Only four lights in the whole room: one on each side of bed, hall light and one light in the bathroom. Walk-in shower. Body soap provided in two wall mounted dispensers. No shampoo, conditioner or body lotion. Our tour group had the buffet dinner in the evening. Hot selections included rice, marinated chicken, pollock and pork. Soup also available along with tea and coffee. Couple of desserts available as well as fixings for a nice salad. Unfortunately, the hot selections were only warm. We also had a buffet breakfast with our group. About the same offerings as all the other hotels.
