La casa Nettarina

La Casa Nettarina was a recommendation as a longer term vacation rental for the fall. I needed a place to stay for the 6-8 weeks I was anticipating staying in the area. From first contact with the owners (Beatrice and Mario), communication was easy. Of course, with a stay this long there was some trepidation but those worries proved unnecessary once I arrived. The owners picked me up from the train station in town, helped me with reservations/recommendations with places to eat and shop, and helped me with daily transportation logistics in the village and to sites around the area. During my stay, the owners' children helped me with my Italian :) I even got to be buddies with the dog and the cats. The farm is beautiful and peaceful. I found myself sitting on the patio just looking out at the valley. The quietness is perfect for reading those couple of books you've been putting off. If you need a place to get away and reflect, it is excellent for that too. I chose to not rent a car while here but got around pretty easily walking and taking the bus. (It is about a 30 minute walk into the main village and a main bus terminal is located there.) This may not be the option for everyone; I figured while I am here I would take the opportunity to get a lot of exercise (it is a hilly area so you will get exercise). This place is awesome. If you are in the area, stay here if you can, you will not regret it. The roosters in the area like to crow about 4:30am, but it is not so bad :)
